Apple releasing Mac OS X 1.6.5 betas soon Posted: 06 Aug 2010 10:33 AM PDT Besides Microsoft Apple is the biggest computer developer on the market and although Microsoft has developed the most used operating system in the world, Windows, it doesn't mean that Apple is not working hard on its operating system. As you know, Apple is working hard on its Mac OS and the first Mac OS was released in 1984 when first Mac computers showed. Over the years system has developed greatly and now we have the latest version of Mac OS from Apple – Mac OS X. Interesting thing about Mac OS X is that Mac OS X is entirely independent from previous versions and that it has history of its own. Mac OS X is a successor of Mac OS 9 and unlike previous versions it is Unix operating system based on NeXTSTEP operating system. Besides that, Mac OS X is using Mach kernel and BSD code base. There have been six releases of Mac OS X so far and the latest is Mac OS X 10.6 also known as Snow Leopard. About the Author: |
